AirSENCE successfully tracked the air pollutant indicators associated with the recent wildfires in Canada

Curious about the impact of Canadian wildfires on air quality? AirSENCE devices deployed in the City of Toronto successfully tracked the fluctuations of PM2.5, AQHI and other air pollutant indicators associated with wildfires. Typically, Toronto enjoys good air quality with PM2.5 levels below 20 μg/m3 and AQHI below 4. The wildfires, though hundreds to thousands kilometres away, resulted in air pollution levels that were 4 to 5 times worse than normal, with  PM2.5 levels reaching 100 μg/m3 and AQHI peaking at 7 between June 5th and June 8th, 2023.
